Hands of Hope

The Quilters and the Knit/Crochet Group comprise the Hands of Hope.  Would you like to put your creative talents to work helping others?  You are welcome to join us!

The Quilters meet weekly on Tuesday mornings from 9-12. The mission of this group is to create and donate quilts for those in need. The finished quilts are donated to ACCA,( the Annandale Christian Coalition for Action) , to Roanoke College for international students studying there, to the families that Hope Church sponsors at Christmas , to the NOVACO (Northern Virginia Coalition) fundraising auction, and to Lutheran World Relief for distribution to refugees overseas.  Once a year in the Fall, quilts are sold to raise money to buy supplies.  Donated fabric and sewing supplies are always welcome.

Quilt Making

The Knit/Crochet Group meets from 2-4 p.m. the first and third Wednesdays of the month to make sweaters, mittens, scarves, hats, afghans, and toys for distribution to NOVACO families, for sale in their fundraising  auction and to the families that Hope church sponsors at Christmas.   Personal instruction in both crafts is given, and patterns, yarn, knitting needles and crochet hooks are available.  (Please bring your own supplies if you have them and wish to make items for personal use.)   Members may also work at home if they wish.  Donations of materials as well as partially finished projects are accepted and used.
